The former Miss USA runner up reveals how she got into

The former Miss USA runner-up reveals how she got into the best shape of her life for the pageant – and shares her ultimate guide to losing fat and getting “lean.”

A former Miss USA contestant has revealed the three things she did to get in the best shape of her life before competing.

Chelsea Hardin, 32, admits she was out of shape and lacking confidence when she was nominated for Miss Hawaii USA in 2016. But after hiring a trainer and changing her diet, she transformed her body and won the title.

The beauty queen, now a fitness instructor, trained for another four months for the Miss USA 2016 pageant before being named first runner-up to Deshauna Barber of the District of Columbia.

Hardin spoke about the competition on TikTok, sharing a photo of herself strutting around the stage in a skimpy white bikini and nude platform stilettos. Chelsea Hardin, 32, from Hawaii, became a fitness trainer after competing in the Miss USA 2016 pageant

“I’m competing in Las Vegas for Miss USA after winning Miss Hawaii USA, and this is definitely the thinnest I’ve ever been,” she said.

Hardin explained that she did three things to lose body fat and get fit for the pageant.

Miss USA 2016 runner-up Chelsea Hardin said she did three things to be fit for the competition:

  • Eat clean and count macronutrients
  • Strength train four to five times per week and do 30 minutes of cardio three times per week
  • Prioritize sleep and hydration

“The first thing you should do is pay attention to your diet,” she advised. “Remove all packaged foods, high sugar content and inflammatory oils and eat clean.”

The fitness guru said, “It doesn’t matter how much body fat you need to lose” or “how much muscle you need to gain,” most of your success will come from your diet.

Second, Hardin said you have to move your body, but she admitted that she no longer has the time to train like she did when preparing for the pageant.

“At that time, I had the time, energy and effort and the will and motivation to get this far,” she said. “Obviously I don’t have as much time for it at the moment, so my body looks different now as a mother.”

Whether you’re training for a competition or just want to get in shape, she explained that consistency is key.

“It’s not about that one good workout or that one good salad,” she said. “I was consistent. After winning Miss Hawaii USA, I trained for four months. I trained hardcore. I was strict.’

Hardin reiterated that this routine is only for someone who wants to “deny themselves” and have “really low body fat.”

“Find what works for you to be consistent in the gym,” she said. “Show up four to five times a week and give yourself rest days.”

Hardin ended her video by emphasizing the importance of prioritizing sleep and staying hydrated, saying that many women make the mistake of pushing these habits aside when working out.

“No matter how hard you work in the gym, no matter how clean your diet is, if you don’t give your body rest, if you don’t stay hydrated, it’s going to be very hard to see changes,” she said.

“So if you want to get leaner, if you want to lose body fat, be aware and focus on these three things,” she concluded.

Hardin’s video has been viewed nearly 473,000 times and received more than a hundred comments.

Many people wanted to know more about her workout routine and diet, and she was happy to answer their questions.

The model explained that to prepare for the pageant, she did strength training four to five times a week and did 30 minutes of cardio three times a week.

As for her diet, she shared that she counted macronutrients, which are carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.

“The right ratio will help change your body composition!” she said.
