The Franklin Electric: a new song and album out June 30th

Montreal-based indie group The Franklin Electric today release Make No Mistakes, the second excerpt from their upcoming album, Oh Brother, due out next June.

Although The Franklin Electric has lost two musicians in recent months who wanted to focus on their solo careers, that doesn’t stop the group from continuing on their path.

After unveiling the first excerpt called “Call me” a few weeks ago, today it is the turn of “Make Nos Mistakes” to be presented to the many admirers of the formation, of which Jon Matte remains the leader.

Very focused on spirituality and philosophy, he explains that he embraces a new vulnerability on this album, which will be previewed June 29 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The album will be officially launched the next day, followed by a major Canadian tour with more than 20 dates throughout Quebec.

“Of course the musicians are changing, but we’re preparing a brand new concert for this new album,” explains Jon Matte, who founded the group in 2014.

“Make No Mistakes” is a fragile, mystical song that speaks of a rare kind of self-honesty, the singer adds. A knowledge or trust that we have the answers within us. »

  • The Franklin Electric will tour Quebec City beginning June 29th. The group will perform at the International Jazz Festival on June 29th, Brossard on November 18th, Trois-Rivières on December 2nd and Laval on December 13th.
