Golden Globes host Jerrod Carmichael’s joke about the late singer Whitney Houston doesn’t make it to social media.

Several netizens have criticized the comedian, who recalls that the ceremony was organized in the same hotel where the famous singer drowned in a bathtub in 2012 at the age of 48.
“We’re all gathered here, live from the hotel that killed Whitney Houston, the Beverly Hilton,” he says in his opening monologue.
This isn’t the only moment of the evening when Mr. Carmichael chilled the room.
A little later, the 35-year-old comedian came on stage with three trophies and mentioned that they were the ones brought by actor Tom Cruise.

The ‘Mission Impossible’ films star made the decision to return his three Golden Globes last year after several pieces of information were revealed showing the organization of this prestigious evening lacked diversity as it was among the 80 dedicated to vote the winners, no journalists gave the color.
The host then offered to trade the three trophies for the return of actress Shelly Miscavige, who has not been seen in public since 2007.
