The Mountain View company made headlines after its annual Google I/O conference. She also introduced the Pixel 7a, the brand’s new affordable smartphone. It’s harder to claim this option due to the price increase, especially now that the Google Pixel 7 is trading at a better price thanks to this offer.

A particularly photographic smartphone
The Pixel 7 refines its unique look, characterized by the horizontal bar with the photo sensors. Compared to the Pixel 6, this is more refined and has a more subtle aluminum coating. The finish is excellent, the grip is pleasant, thanks in particular to the reduction in screen size (from 6.4 to 6.3 inches) and the weight of the phone (197g). Its OLED screen offers excellent brightness and near-perfect colorimetry. The lack of 120Hz isn’t so lacking at 90Hz on the counter.
Unsurprisingly, the Pixel 7 is one of the best camera phones out there right now. Its module consists of two sensors: a 50-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The shots are successful, with bright colors, sharpness in the hair and very present details. Google’s algorithms always work wonders and the various options are very practical, such as the magic eraser or the famous Super Res Zoom, a fairly convincing x8 digital zoom.
Balanced and pleasant to use
The seventh generation of Google Pixel is equipped with the Tensor G2 chip. This chip ensures worry-free everyday use, but affects gaming performance a bit. You can play, however, without pushing the graphics down, otherwise there will be some slowdowns. We will appreciate it above all for its software interface. With the “Pixel Experience” on Android 13 we are entitled to a user experience that is particularly fluid and very pleasant. Google also offers numerous practical options, such as a very extensive personalization.
The only real bug is the (very) slow loading. A full charge takes almost an hour and a half. Luckily, the autonomy will be satisfactory: during our test, the smartphone was able to last a whole day with normal use, but if you have a more advanced use, you’ll have to think about switching to a slightly more powerful model.
