The as yet unannounced but widely leaked Google Pixel 7a has appeared in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) database. The group endorses devices that use Bluetooth and hints an official phone announcement is just around the corner.

Google is already rumored to be announcing the Pixel 7a at its annual Google I/O event on May 10, and the device’s arrival in the GIS database suggests that is the case. .
Previous leaks suggested the phone would be announced alongside the Google Pixel Fold, the company’s first foldable phone. Both devices should then go on sale shortly afterwards, possibly in June.
9to5Google discovered the SIG record and notes that while it doesn’t reveal too much about the game, it at least shows that the Pixel 7a has been certified for Bluetooth 5.3. This is particularly interesting considering that both the mid-range Pixel 7 and the high-end Pixel 7 Pro support Bluetooth 5.2 technology. However, this upgrade is not expected to make much of a difference for most people, especially if the device will be used in the real world rather than in lab tests.
Ultimately, the only real takeaway from the Pixel 7a’s appearance at SIG is that it’s actually right around the corner, with the May 10 reveal now more likely than ever.
Google is currently rumored to be giving the Pixel 7a a 6.1-inch Full HD+ resolution. On the processor side, Google’s Tensor G2 chip seems likely, but the amount of RAM and storage remains to be seen. If Google is serious about announcing this device at the May 10 event, we won’t have long to wait for everything to be at least confirmed.
In terms of pricing, a leak from Yogesh Brar suggests the Pixel 7a will cost between $450 and $500.
