Pierre Lampron, who dedicated his career to developing and promoting Quebec culture, died on March 29.

Among other things, he was the first President and Chief Executive Officer of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelle (SODEC) from 1995 to 1999. Mr. Lampron has been a key player in launching new financial tools, particularly investing in culture and communications. He then held the same position at TV5 Americas for a few months before being appointed Head of TVA Films. He remained in office until 2004, when he assumed the vice presidency for institutional relations at Quebecor.
In 2009, Pierre Lampron promoted Vision Montreal with Louise Harel. He was elected councilor of the Vieux-Rosemont district. He remained in politics until 2012.
A former professor of literature and linguistics at the Cégep de Trois-Rivières, he has received several awards and distinctions throughout his career: Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature of the French Republic (1991), Knight of the Order of National Merit of the French Republic (1998 ), Knight of the Pléiade Order of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (2001). He is also a recipient of the Samuel de Champlain Prize, which recognizes his important role in France-Quebec relations.
He is survived by his wife Lise Julien, with whom he has shared the last 57 years, his sons Julien and Antoine, and his grandchildren Hadrien, Sophie, Romain, Charles, Jeanne, Louis, and many relatives and friends. .
