The house fire in Alcorcon left one injured in critical

In a fire that occurred on Tuesday evening in a house in the Madrid municipality of Alcorcón, a neighbor was injured in critical condition and another eleven people were slightly drunk, a spokesman for the emergency number 112 of the Community of Madrid told this newspaper. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. At 12 p.m., several calls were received on the number 112 alerting that “a fairly serious fire broke out” at numbers 4 and 6 of Navalcarnero Street and that there was even “an explosion had heard”.

Several firefighters from the Alcorcón City Council Fire Department and several units from Suma are on site. Upon arrival, Alcorcón firefighters discovered that the fire had started in a house on the ground floor that had already completely burned down.

“The fire was very advanced and had spread to the adjacent house because there was an explosion that collapsed a partition wall and connected both houses,” the spokesman explains. “The explosion destroyed the partition wall and the built-in cupboard,” the firefighters say in a video and point out that the source of the fire was in the living room.

The causes of the fire appear a priori to be accidental. According to research sources, the development must have taken some time when the man opened a door and a violent intrusion of oxygen caused a backflow or an explosion of the hot gases in the house. “The violence of the torch caused the party wall to collapse.”

As soon as they broke down the door of the house where the fire broke out, the firefighters found a person lying on the ground, whom they rescued “unconscious and in a very serious condition.” No injuries were reported from the adjacent house, which was also affected by the flames.

This is a 60-year-old man who suffered burns to his face and chest due to inhalation and who suffered cardiac arrest several times. Health workers managed to reverse the disease and transferred him in critical condition to the burns unit of the Getafe hospital, where he was admitted.

At the same time, firefighters “restricted the rest of the residents to the upper houses to avoid further damage,” but eleven people on the upper floors were slightly poisoned. “When the firefighters finished ventilating, many neighbors came to be treated for eye or throat problems,” explains the spokesman. The eleven people, all adults except for a girl aged eight or ten, were released on site.
