Tehran, November 4 (Prensa Latina) Iranian intelligence services today announced the dismantling of a network linked to the Mujahideen Jalq (MKO) armed group in the city of Shiraz in the south-west of the country.
The head of the judiciary in Fars province, Kazem Musavi, reported this Friday on the arrest of three people working for the MKO, an organization classified as terrorist by the Persian government and responsible for the deaths of more than 17,000 Iranians Tate has been credited with terror since 1979.
According to the official, the operation was carried out in cooperation with various intelligence agencies, and the detainees, who operated not only in Shiraz but also in several other cities in the country, were responsible for “planning and directing propaganda projects in favor of the terrorist group MKO and its criminal head”.
The announcement comes a week after the terrorist attack on Shah Cheraq’s shrine in that city, which claimed 15 lives and injured dozens, was alleged by the terrorist group Daesh.
On October 28, Shiraz Governor Lotfolá Shibani also reported that a person intending to plant a bomb in one of the busiest neighborhoods in the city was arrested by the Persian country’s security forces.
These events come amid national tensions following the campaign unleashed by the Western press accusing the security forces of murdering young Mahsa Amini, who died of health complications while being held by morality police for misuse of the Hijad (compulsory veil in the country).
Top Iranian officials have accused the United States, Israel and their European allies of being behind these violent demonstrations designed to destabilize the Persian nation.
