Israeli security forces take position amid clashes with Palestinian protesters following a demonstration against Israel’s expropriation of Palestinian land in the village of Qaryut, south of the city of Nablus
The Israeli army announced on Tuesday the 24th that it had killed three commanders of the Palestinian Islamic group Hamas in recent hours, including one identified as Abed Alrahman, who authorities say was directly involved in the Sept. 7 terrorist attacks Israel, in which more than 1,400 people died and about 200 were kidnapped. In a statement, the army said it relied on information from Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency in carrying out the operation that killed the three Hamas commanders. According to police and Shin Bet intelligence, Hamas militants arrested after the Oct. 7 massacre admitted that the Islamist group’s armed wing had promised a $10,000 reward and an apartment for any hostage they took would have Gaza Strip.
“Whoever kidnaps a hostage and takes them to Gaza will receive $10,000 and an apartment,” one respondent said, while another explained that “the orders were to kidnap older women and children” and kill all the men it in a video portion of police interrogations. According to the security forces, the militiamen have raised a number of questions in the investigation so far: “The terrorist forces that attacked outposts, cities and communities in southern Israel received clear and explicit instructions to kill and kidnap civilians, including the elderly .”, women and children.”
“Senior commanders of Hamas’s military wing (from company commander rank up) stayed behind, taking shelter in safe houses and hiding while sending their personnel to Israel to fight, die or be arrested,” they added Security forces added. According to the statement, “all terrorists provided detailed information about the morning of the attack and massacre in the south (of Israel), and also provided valuable information that was and is being used to attack targets in the Gaza Strip.”
O Israeli army confirms the continuity of bomber strikes with attacks on 400 targets of the Palestinian group Hamas in the last 24 hours, on the 18th consecutive day of hostilities in the region. To date there have been 7,191 confirmed war deaths, 1,400 in Israel and 5,791 in Gaza. According to the Palestinian enclave’s health ministry, the bombings left 2,360 children dead and 16,297 people injured.
