The Israeli Defense Ministry announces a new phase of the war against Hamas in Gaza
The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced this Thursday (4) a new phase of the war against Hamas in Gaza.
Minister Yoav Gallant said the army would focus more on the north of the region while continuing to search for leaders of the terrorist group in the south. Gallant reiterated that the Gaza Strip must be administered by the Palestinian authorities after the war, but expressed the caveat that they could not pose a threat to Israel.
In recent days, other countries in the Middle East have also reported cases of violent attacks: Iran and Iraq, for example.
Tensions continue on Lebanon's southern border, where Hezbollah operates. The Israeli army released a video showing the group's targets in the city of Yaroun being hit. According to the Israeli government, Hezbollah's attacks hit open fields in Israel.
According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, 22 people were killed in Israeli bombings in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. Many Palestinians displaced from the north are seeking protection and security in the city.
The Maarouf family has had to move many times since the start of the war. They come from the north and seek shelter in a tent in the southern city of Rafah.
“What can we do? Check out our conditions. We have no heat, no electricity, no light, nothing,” says Safeya.
