It was announced this Wednesday that journalist Ramón Enrique Torres Guzmán has died at the age of 71 after a battle with throat cancer.
“Dad was a man dedicated to his work and his family. During these two years of his recovery, we have experienced the love and respect of his family, his co-workers, his friends and especially the people of his beloved hometown of Ponce. We are indebted and grateful to the people of Puerto Rico for supporting us and identifying with our family during this difficult time. We ask the media to give us the space to manage the process at this time,” said his children Enrique, Layza and Xavier.
The family will announce details of the memorial service shortly.
“There is a very close bond between this family and my family”
