The judiciary rules that Eduardo Bolsonaro withdraws music by Chico Buarque

Judge Fernando Rocha Lovisi of the 6th Special Civil Court of the Comarca da Lagoa granted singer Chico Buarque early urgent relief and ordered Federal Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro to immediately remove the song Roda Viva from a social media post.

In his decision, the judge indicated that noncompliance would result in a daily fine of R$ 1,000. The lawsuit also charges the federal lawmaker with R$48,000 in compensation and posting the conviction verdict on the same social network where he abused the work.

The dispute began when Eduardo Bolsonaro used the song Roda Viva in a post about alleged political arrests of supporters of his father, Republic President Jair Bolsonaro.

Chico Buarque, a staunch critic of the Bolsonaro family, called for an immediate withdrawal. However, in November Deputy Judge Monica Ribeiro Teixeira denied the request on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence that Roda Viva was authored by Chico Buarque. Before the injunctive relief, the defense had rejected an appeal, but without examining the merits.
