The Kremlin announces Putin’s visit to breakaway regions of Ukraine “soon”.

The Russian presidency announced this Sunday that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is planning a visit to Ukrainian separatist areas controlled by Russian forces “soon”.

“Putin will visit Donbass soon,” announced Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by the official news agency TASS. “I’m sure it will happen in due course because it is [um território] which is part of the Russian Federation,” he underlined.

On October 5, Putin signed a decree on the incorporation of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporiya and Kherson regions into the Russian Federation. The four zones were annexed after holding referendums deemed illegal by Ukraine, the United States and allies.

Peskov also assured that the military recruitment process in Russia was “completed”.

The military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24 has already caused the displacement of more than 13 million people more than six million internally displaced and more than 7.8 million to European countries according to the latest data from the UN categorizing this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since World War II (19391945).

The Russian invasion — justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin with the need to “deNazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security — was generally condemned by the international community, which responded by sending arms to Ukraine and they imposed political and economic sanctions on Russia.

The United Nations has confirmed 6,655 civilian deaths and 10,368 wounded since the start of the war, underscoring that these figures are far below the actual figures.
