(ANSA) — ROME, FEBRUARY 22 — Russian President Vladimir Putin has reversed a 2012 decree that partially reaffirmed Moldova’s sovereignty as part of policies for the future of Transnistria, a Moscow-backed breakaway region annexed to the Ukraine borders and troops are stationed in Russia. The Guardian reports on it. The decree, which included a Moldovan component, outlined Russia’s 11-year-old foreign policy, which entailed closer ties with the EU and the US. The revocation was published on the Kremlin’s website and said the decision was taken to “guarantee Russian interests in relation to changes in international relations”.
