The LA mansion called The Castle, where the Getty family lived, is being sold for $10 million

A stunning Los Angeles mansion called The Castle was the home of the Getty and Flea family of Red Hot Chili Peppers and recently sold for a whopping $10 million.

Designed by Alfred Frederick Leicht, the eclectic home was built in 1924 and looks like it was ripped straight out of a picture book.

The house is a mix of Romanesque and Egyptian styles with touches of medieval flair, and honors the architect’s Prussian homeland, from which he emigrated after the First World War.

Hollywood’s elite were quickly drawn to the atypical house with its regal atmosphere and modern touches, even catching the attention of the Getty family, who made their fortunes from the oil industry and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

It has also attracted several other artists, including Bob Dylan and Andy Warhol, according to Top Ten Real Estate Deals.

Art therapist Muna El Fituri sold the home in January for just over $10 million after having lived in it since 2014. According to Culture Type, she narrated the stunning property to artists Jonas Wood and Shio Kusaka.

El Fituri bought the property from John Gilbert Getty in 2014 for $8.3 million — breaking the neighborhood record at the time — and she said she was drawn to the home because it reminded her of her childhood in Europe.

Like many millionaires in Hollywood, the 5,582-square-foot residence comes with many perks, including a music studio, basketball court, and guest apartment.

Set on two acres of grounds, it is downright dramatic both inside and out. Hillside LA mansion offers the ultimate dose of privacy and stunning panoramic views.

The interior feels like an old castle, with brick walls, arched windows, neutral sand tones, and gilded ceilings.

The living room has endlessly high vaulted ceilings and three large windows overlooking the hills with exposed brick floors and walls. The space is brought to life with modern, sleek furniture that breaks up the many pointed features scattered throughout the design.

For homeowners to enter the dining room, they must climb a small flight of stairs embraced by medieval-looking columns and an arched entrance. It leads into an oval room with many large windows overlooking the hills and light from sconces on the brick wall and a multicolored chandelier.

The home’s five bedrooms are decorated with a minimalist mindset, featuring white walls and arched entryways and muted tones.

Each bathroom has a unique tile design from black to sunny yellow.

The kitchen feels a bit out of place, marveling at the simple and modern style of the bedrooms. It pays tribute to the bricks throughout the home with a white subway tile while keeping the square accents. It has mid-tone wood countertops with white cabinets and stainless steel appliances.
