Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen Inc. caterer Joycelyn Bryant is accused of allowing spices to be added to her dishes harmful amounts of cannabis at the request of the bride and groom. The plaintiff is seeking more than $30,000 in damages. “He knew or should have known that serving food with marijuana would harm the wedding guests,” she said in her complaint. The newlyweds also face multiple charges, including food spoilage and marijuana delivery.
On February 19, 2022, The wedding party went wrong started complaining because they felt high. The police were alerted to the incident. One guest told officers he felt he had “drugs on him” after consuming only food and wine. Meanwhile, the emergency services had to take care of several people on site other guests were taken to the hospital. A woman reportedly told authorities the food was mixed with marijuana. Samples of the food served at the event were sent to a laboratory for testing. The results showed that the lasagne and the bread were positive for THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana.
