The dialogues in the trailer show a small portion of the game’s plot, with Joel tasked with escorting Ellie across the postapocalyptic United States in search of a cure, as she is immune to the infection that turns people into monsters. Joel explains why he is persistent and only treats Ellie as a burden at first, even when he is tough.
Oddly enough, between the musical notes that set the drama awaited in the trailer, HBO even found a small space for comic relief before proceeding to present and develop the relationship between the two.

We can see many characters besides Joel and Ellie. It is important to remember that the adaptation envisages further exploring this universe, creating new characters and improving some that already existed in the Naughty Dog game. For example, Frank (Murray Bartlett) and Bill (Nick Offerman) get some interesting screen time during the trailer, leading the viewer to understand that they will have deeper development than ingame.
The trailer features many familiar shots for those familiar with The Last of Us game, such as: B. the forest and the shopping center. The dangerous clickers also appeared quickly between one scene and the next, while the dreaded bloater makes an appearance towards the end.
