The last time Peru beat Brazil in a South American U20
On January 18, 2013, the Peruvian team played before Brazil for the last date of Argentina’s South American Sub-20. Both teams needed a win to qualify for the final hexagon.
To the surprise of many, the team around Argentinian Daniel Ahmed was superior to its rival over 90 minutes and showed great individual performances.
La Bicolor formed with Ángelo Campos in goal; Diego Chávez, Marcos Ortiz and Alexi Gómez in defence; Rafael Guarderas, Hernán ‘Churrito’ Hinostroza and Wilder Cartagena in the middle; and Edison Flores, Cristian Benavente and Yordy Reyna in attack. Jean Deza, Raziel García and Claudio Torrejón came into play in the second half.

La Blanquirroja eventually defeated Verdeamarela 2-0 with goals from Reyna and Flores. In this way, Bicolor advanced to the next round as leaders while Scratch, whose star figure was Rafinha Alcántara, was eliminated.
