The significant results in all areas are the result of the tremendous efforts of all people under the Party’s wise and wise leadership and the state’s active and effective administration, Phu Trong said at a meeting to mark the Lunar New Year and the 93 anniversary of the founding of the PCV.
These achievements show at the same time the wisdom and strength of the great national unity bloc, he stressed.
The party leader recalled that last year the economy achieved growth of more than 8 percent, much more than the planned target of 6 to 6.5 percent, while budget revenues increased by 14 percent.
In addition, he added, the macro economy remains stable, the major economic balances are assured, the financial and money markets are stable, the major sectors are recovering and progressing, social assistance is growing safely, and residents’ lives are better.
Phu Trong also pointed out that the fight against corruption is being advanced with outstanding results, defense and security are being strengthened, national sovereignty is being defended, and international integration is seen as a bright spot of 2022.
Referring to the year that has just started, he considered that the implementation of the Resolution of the XIII. National Congress of the Party and the Five-Year Plan for Socio-Economic Development 2021-2025 will be crucial.
The key task in 2023 will be to fully achieve the proposed goals to stabilize the macro economy, develop the culture, education and training and science and technology sectors, protect the environment, ensure social well-being and life to improve the residents.
It is also important to strengthen the rectification of party ranks, building a socialist rule of law and a transparent and sound political system, promoting administrative reform, the judiciary and the fight against corruption and negative phenomena.
He also pointed out the need to defend national sovereignty and maintain an environment of peace and stability in order to achieve rapid and sustainable development, proactively and actively participate in comprehensive international integration, and expand and diversify foreign relations .
The PCV Secretary-General stressed that the immediate task is to overcome difficulties, remove obstacles and promote production and economy, take care of the lives of people, cadres and soldiers on duty in border areas, seas and islands, the consequences from natural disasters and epidemics and celebrates Tet with joy and peace.
