Inside, antique items mix with modern furniture, precious fabrics and original works of art. The Italian marble bathrooms have underfloor heating and organic Bamford products. Thanks to its ideal location, just a short walk from Harrods and London’s Museum District, the Adria is a wonderful oasis of privacy and comfort. Notable features of this property include a gym as well as a spa where you can treat yourself to a deep tissue massage. There are also several elegant lounges available to guests. Afternoon tea is served daily in the Polo Lounge and a cocktail cart is available in the games room. Guests are encouraged to ask the concierge for a detailed list of recommended local restaurants, ranging from Asian delights to Michelin-starred restaurants, perfect for in-room dining.

Aleenta Retreat (Chiang Mai, Thailand) NEW OPENING APRIL 2023: A modern design retreat in one of the most beautiful areas of Chiang Mai

Access to the courtyard of the new Aleenta Retreat is via a tree-lined driveway in the Umong district of Chiang Mai. Entering the courtyard feels like entering a small Thai village square. Surrounding the central swimming pool, lined with bamboo and frangipani trees, are four old Thai teak homes that the hotel has converted into a spa, a restaurant, the local craft shop and a family villa. Inspired by the stonework of Chiang Mai’s ruined temples, Aleenta Retreat’s 44 spacious rooms combine traditional Thai design with a soothing palette of natural tones and sophisticated furnishings. The Ayurah Spa, located in a two-story teak-clad building near the central swimming pool, is the hotel’s raison d’être. In addition to additional daily courses in yoga, Qi Gong, meditation and mindfulness, the menu includes tailor-made holistic wellness programs. Not only are programs complemented by healthy cooking and wellness cooking classes, but the hotel also offers guests the opportunity to work with a resident “master healer,” doctor, nurse, and nutritionist to achieve optimal well-being and balance during their stay to reach.
