The Lionesses appear ready to cheer as they leave the Oz Hotel after a much-needed day off before the showdown in Colombia…while former player and pundit Jill Scott relaxes at a bar

You fought your way through the World Cup.

The England Lionesses were certainly in need of a rest as they took a day off on Thursday before returning to training the following day ahead of Saturday’s crucial quarter-final game against Colombia.

Led by stars including Chloe Kelly, who shared a sweet snap of her reunion with boyfriend Scott on Relaxation Day, the group made their way to their coach in the brilliant Australian sunshine before making their final preparations for the big game .

Jill Scott, who retired last year, was supporting the team, which also includes Lucy Bronze, Rachel Daly, Katie Zelem, Millie Bright, Alex Greenwood, Georgia Stanway and Jess Carter, when she went to a Bondi Beach bar.

The reigning ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ winner prepared for the heat in a t-shirt and shorts during a break from her expert work at the tournament.

Forward Chloe shared a sweet snap with Scott on Instagram as they relaxed on the beach near the team’s base camp in Terrigal.

They were joined by Chloe’s father Noel, who has accompanied her since the start of the tournament in Australia while Scott was late.

Elsewhere, Bethany England was enjoying a day out with her mother, Lisa, and twin sister, Laura.

Captain Millie Bright and her friend Rachel Daly headed to the beach with a group of family members, while Lauren Hemp and Katie Zelem were spotted with friends.

After their day off, the Lionesses were put through their paces before the game. The side secured their place in the last eight after a dramatic penalty win against Nigeria, in which Chloe Kelly scored a stunning winner.

However, in terms of on-pitch performance, England are far from the tournament England were hoping for and they are looking to make up for that with hard work.

Ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game against Colombia, some members of Sarina Wiegman’s side were spotted working out in the gym.

The Lionesses will be without Chelsea star Lauren James after she was sent off in dramatic fashion in the final round after trampling on one of Nigeria’s stars.

Several Wiegman stars were seen undergoing the transplant Thursday afternoon.

Spirits in the England camp were upbeat ahead of their clash with Colombia, where they meet 18-year-old sensation Linda Caicedo.

Despite the fact that they have won all their games in this competition, England’s performances are still disappointing.

Their 1-0 victories over Haiti and Denmark left much to be desired and their struggle to defeat Nigeria only increased concerns for Wiegman’s side.

A number of England’s stars are likely to have made changes in training as James’ suspension leaves a gap in the starting line-up.

Players like Georgia Stanway, Chloe Kelly and Alessia Russo are hoping to take James’ place in the game against Colombia.
