Contrary to what some recently released information might suggest, the Toronto Maple Leafs should not be ruled out in the case of forward Patrick Kane, who is looking for a team for the current season.
As the TSN network reported on Tuesday through its journalist Darren Dreger, the veteran’s clan has actually held discussions with the Queen City organization, as well as with other organizations. These claims contradict what expert John Shannon suggested on Friday when he mentioned that there had been no meeting between the two camps.

But regardless of what has happened in recent days, the Leafs and several contenders are hoping to sign the former Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, who underwent hip surgery over the summer.
“Patrick Kane is analyzing the many options in which he is interested,” Dreger wrote, adding that the principal concerned should narrow down the list of candidates soon. You know, he and his agent Pat Brisson have participated in several in-person interviews, including the one with the Maple Leafs that was conducted over a Zoom call. […] There are initially up to eight clubs in the squad and Brisson will tell some they no longer have a chance once a final decision has been made. It hasn’t happened yet.”
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the USA, an outcome next week seems plausible according to the ice hockey expert.
Teams following the story closely include the Florida Panthers and Buffalo Sabres. Kane won three Stanley Cups in Chicago and recorded 57 points in 73 games last season with the Blueshirts.
