After three pandemic-related turbulences, the dealers of the various brands of quad bikes and side-by-side vehicles can now count on normal supply to meet consumer expectations.
“The market is really recovering. Vehicles are becoming increasingly available, explains Adrénaline Sports de Québec Land Sales Manager Robert Gingras. When it comes to deliveries, there really is a significant improvement. We are no longer talking about eight to twelve months until a consumer receives his device, but three months at the most. Also, we currently have many vehicles in stock for immediate delivery.” Not long ago, some vehicles were delivered to the consumer with missing parts.
“The vehicles are now really complete, regardless of which model the consumer chooses.”
As for the division of the market between work vehicles and leisure vehicles, the expert says the following.
“Looks like we’re seeing a nice uptick in this part of the market with BRP’s new range of work vehicles. I had the opportunity to try them out in Houston. This is a two seater Outlander ATV with either a 500cc or 700cc single cylinder engine. The chassis is also new.
It should also be arriving in stores shortly.
“As soon as the announcement of its launch came, consumers had their say. Everything is going well for performance and trail vehicles. With the new series we will have a more complete range. The market has picked up which means vehicle sales are better. We no longer wait for parts, we can deliver vehicles quickly. That’s what the consumer is looking for.”
Back to normal
The same story was told to us by Dave Marcotte, co-owner of SM Sports, which represents many other brands.
“With the manufacturers we represent, we are able to have stock. So if someone wants to buy a vehicle, side by side or quad, there is no problem to deliver immediately. What is certain is that American manufacturers such as Polaris can produce much faster than Japanese manufacturers such as Suzuki or Yamaha. Things are going very well on the CFMOTO side in terms of vehicle supply, which leads me to say that the market is finally back to normal.”
For the expert, the market for work machines currently dominates.
“At the moment, my commercial vehicles in particular are finding buyers. High-performance machines are quieter.”
An electric model
The folks at SM Sport are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new electric Ranger models.
“We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Ranger Kinetic models, all of which are already being sold here. These side-by-sides are truly revolutionary. They are made in partnership with Zero Motor Company, which has been in the electric motorcycle market for several years. I believe we are coming to market with a vehicle that will mark a turning point in the electric mountain bike space.”
This new Ranger features a 110hp electric motor, making the Kinetic 35% more efficient than other vehicles in its range currently on the market.
The accepted weight in the back box is 1250 pounds.
According to the manufacturer, the vehicle has a torque of 140 lb/ft. The 14.9 kWh lithium battery has an estimated range of 72 kilometers or 45 miles. A 3 kW onboard charger is factory-installed. Charging is quick from a 120 volt outlet. The ground clearance is 14 inches.
For off-piste use, far from traditional backup terminals, it is necessary to provide a system that ensures charging.
The moral of today’s market is quite simple.
Dealers can now deliver the vehicles they want to consumers almost instantly.
