Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday agreed terms of a partnership that will make the former quarterback a minority owner of the organization.
According to Sports Illustrated magazine, the Nevada franchise has submitted the contract to the NFL. At least 24 franchise owners in the league must vote under this association.
The 45-year-old ex-athlete and owner Mark Davis has been discussing the possibility of working together for several weeks. The pair have also worked with the Las Vegas Aces, a WNBA women’s basketball team, since Brady bought a minority stake in the club in March.
Though he shouldn’t have decision-making authority with the Raiders, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t just be enjoying his retirement. Beginning in 2024, he will join the Fox network’s analytics group on a 10-year deal that will net him $375 million.
Brady, who won the Super Bowl seven times during his career, hung up his helmet and shoulder pads at the end of the 2022 season.
