SPOILER ALERT: Do not read further if you have not watched The Masked Singer Season 10, Episode 6, “Harry Potter Night,” which aired October 25 on Fox.
The timing couldn’t have been better: With Halloween fast approaching, there was a spooky “Harry Potter” episode of “The Masked Singer” this week, so it was only fitting that “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey was next There would be a celebrity who will be unmasked in season 10.
Posey was revealed to be Hawk after performing The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” this week. “I have this checklist of random weird things that you only experience once in your life,” Posey told Variety. “And that fits exactly with that. This is just a fun, interesting, random, bizarre experience that I really wanted to have. It is also a challenge. I’ve always been a bit awkward when it comes to choreographed dancing. And claustrophobia is a bit strange for me. The whole experience was something where I really wanted to push through and do my best.”
This time no one got it right, even though they were mostly in the stadium. Ken Jeong chose Cole Sprouse. Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg suspected Chad Michael Murray. Robin Thicke calls Ryan Phillippe. Nicole Scherzinger went with Billie Joe Armstrong.
“I thought the producers did a pretty good job of keeping the reference a little vague,” he said. “I was flattered who they guessed. Many of my idols were represented in these guesses, such as Billie Joe Armstrong and Pete Wentz. I thought it was really sweet that they thought I could have been one of them.”
The two singers with the fewest votes who competed in a smackdown to decide who would be unmasked were Tiki and Hawk. The two participants sang their own version of “Monster” by Lady Gaga. Tiki moved on to the next week while Hawk was unmasked.
Had he continued, Posey said he was considering a Backstreet Boys song as a possible next performance.
“I was really excited that I was finally exposed so I could talk to all my friends and say, ‘Guess what I’ve been doing for the last few months.’ Even though I wish I had gone further, I’m ready to tell everyone,” Posey added.
Tyler Posey as Hawk joins Billie Jean King as Royal Hen, Michael Rapaport as Pickle, Tom Sandoval as Diver, Anthony Anderson as Rubber Ducky and one-time special guest Demi Lovato as Anonymouse as Season 10’s previously unmasked celebrities.
This week’s theme, “Harry Potter Night,” followed each contestant – Sea Queen, Hawk, Husky and Tiki – as they were assigned a Hogwarts house by the Sorting Hat (Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin). Each participant then sang a song appropriate to the week’s episode, such as “Love Potion No. 9” and “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”. Also guest starring in the episode: Adrienne Bailon-Houghton (Flamingo from Season 2), who opened the show with a performance of “I Put a Spell On You.”
This was the second week of Group B to feature a new wildcard contender: Sea Queen. (S’more, Cow and Gazelle take part in the Group A final.)
“The Masked Singer” features a new format this season with three groups, followed by battle royale semifinal episodes. The season also includes the return of Wild Card contestants, with each group being offered a Wild Card, and the “Ding Dong Keep It On Bell” bell is back in the battle royale semi-final episodes where the judges can decide to save a contestant from elimination and move them straight to the finals.
Featuring a total of sixteen celebrity singers, Season 10 features new costumes including “Donut”, “Anteater”, “Hawk”, “Hibiscus”, “Diver”, “Gazelle”, “Royal Hen”, “Husky”, “Tiki”, ” Pickle,” “Rubber Ducky,” “Candelabra,” “Cow,” “Sea Queen,” “Anonymouse,” and a life-sized “S’More.” Marking the show’s 10th outing, celebrities who have been previously unmasked since the show’s inception also return. According to the show, Season 10 contestants “collectively have 40 medals, 33 Grammy nominations, seven Hall of Fame awards, three lifetime achievement awards and over 50 tattoos.”

Tiki
song: “Magic” by Pilot
Panel estimates: Dave Grohl, Jon Bon Jovi, Roger Daltry, Robert Plant
Note on Harry Potter’s house: Gryffindor. “It takes courage to be front and center on the stages I command.”
Packet voiceover: “Making my debut last week was just beachy. And now it feels quite fitting to be performing on Harry Potter night again, because I’ve really found the magic in my life lately. There comes a time in every rockin’ tropical cocktail’s life when they have to decide what’s next. Do you allow yourself to be watered down or do you change with the tides? I decided to put the hard party lifestyle on the back burner and support my family. I used to party until 6am every night. Now my alarm goes off to take my child to school. It makes me emotional just thinking about it. I definitely don’t want this evening to be my last call. So when I come on stage, you’ll see that this tiki is still in limbo!”
Previous song: ““Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John
Previous Panel guesses: John Stamos, David Lee Roth, Robert Plant
Husky, “The Masked Singer” (Michael Becker / Fox) Pete Dadds
Hoarse
song: “Superfreak” by Rick James
Panel estimates: Tank, Ginuwine, Brian McKnight
Note on the Harry Potter House: Hufflepuff. “I actually felt like I was the Hufflepuff. Because of my connection to Mr. Puff himself, P Diddy.”
Packet voiceover: “I showed everyone last week that this dog can still hunt. But just like Harry Potter as a child, I was an underrated wizard. As a young puppy I was teased a lot. Other children always give me a hard time and call me thin. So I withdrew. I began to train my magical arts and grew from a skinny boy to a strong man. Soon all those old naysayers saw me rise to the top spot. But confession. Despite all the love and inspiration for some lovemaking, to this day I still don’t feel like I’ve made it. In my head I’m just a little puppy with a dream trying to make something of myself. And now I’m here to prove that I believe in myself enough to achieve anything, like winning The Masked Singer.”
Previous song: “Benny and the Jets” by Elton John
Previous panel guesses: Babyface, Terrence Howard, Morris Chestnut

Falcon
song: “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” by The Police
Panel estimates: Ryan Phillippe, Andrew Garfield, Billie Joe Armstrong
Note on the Harry Potter House: Ravenclaw: “It makes a lot of sense that I am Ravenclaw. Because I was a good student. Or at least you saw me pretending on TV.”
Packet voiceover: “I can’t believe I emerged victorious in this epic bird fight. It felt really magical to let go. And these days I try to find the magic wherever I can. Not long ago, someone close to me lost her battle with cancer. She was my support system and my best friend. After she died, nothing seemed to matter anymore. I sank into a deep well of loneliness and depression. I realized that she didn’t want me to live my life like that. So I finally opened up about my feelings and got help. I learned that while the pain never goes away, it does subside. And now I hope to inspire others that no matter how dark things get, there is always a way to find some light again.”
Previous song: “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” by Elton John
Previous panel guesses: Cole Sprouse, Pete Wentz, Corey Feldman, Austin Butler
Sea Queen (Wildcard)
song: “Love Potion No. 9” by The Searchers
Panel estimates: Erykah Badu, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lewis
Note on the Harry Potter House: Slytherin. “Slytherin makes sense to me. I have always been smart in my career. You’ll never know what genre I’ll go into next.”
Packet voiceover: “When I was asked to appear as a wildcard as the Sea Queen on Harry Potter Night, I said great.” Sign me up. Because I’ve always been a bit of a joker in life. At 14 I got my first job as a museum guide. But I was fired. And because I was a smart guy, my mother took me to boarding school. But I was kicked out. All the wild twists and turns made me the triple threat I am today. Comedy, writing, singing, I did it all. And these days I’m preparing for a new tour! Oh, and when I slip into a giant costume, I’ll prepare to dazzle you all. Should we do that?”
