On Wednesday night, the Season 10 finale of “The Masked Singer” took a dramatic turn.
After Cow led the way with a stunning performance of Janet Jackson's “Rhythm Nation” and Gazelle brought excitement with Snow Patrol's “Chasing Cars,” it was Sea Queen's turn to make a run for the Golden Mask Trophy with “Rescue Me.” ” by Fontella Bass.
In her advance clue package, she seemed to hint at the drama that was to come in her performance. “I have to be honest, wearing this costume didn’t go very smoothly,” she said. “I'm an experienced performer, but I'm used to being myself on stage and the fact that I have to learn new songs and choreography while wearing a huge mask has really challenged me as an entertainer.”
She continued: “It’s hot in there! It's so claustrophobic and this whole experience has made me nervous in a way I haven't in a long time. But I fought through it and I’m still here.” .”

Just after her performance, she collapsed dramatically on stage and dropped the microphone – literally. The panelists pointed out the obvious, that she needed someone to, as her song says, “save her.” The men in black happily obliged, pulling her to her feet as the Sea Queen raised her arms above her head like a heroine.
She told the jury that her breakdown was deliberate and even added of her time on the show: “It was great. I learned so much. It's very challenging, but I feel like I'm a better entertainer now because of this show.”
And as any good entertainer would do, Sea Queen proved she was all in soon after when it was announced she was the first finalist to be unmasked – and promptly fell over again. On Wednesday evening, however, the jury had some theatrical performances of their own to offer: In a kind of “Masked Singer” finale, all panelists first agreed on their guess for “Sea Queen”. They all said she was the singer and actress Macy Gray, and they weren't Ken Jeong Wrong; Sea Queen's iconic voice was actually that of the Grammy-winning “I Try” singer and Training Day actress.
