The Matildas are teaming up with Nike to launch a new goalkeeper jersey – and Pink is getting the first

Australian soccer legends The Matildas have teamed up with Nike to launch a new goalkeeper jersey, available in stores now – and a world-famous singer was given the first jersey.

American pop star Pink, 44, who is currently touring Australia, and her daughter Willow, 12, received personalized purple jerseys from Matilda goalkeeper Lydia Williams in Melbourne on Saturday.

“This is great, I'll wear it proudly.” “It says Pink and it's number one,” Pink said happily in a video.

Williams said she was thrilled that one of her favorite singers was such a big fan of women's sports.

“She grabbed it straight away. “She said, 'They're sick.' “She loves Australia, Australians and supporting women's sport,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“When she realized it was about the World Cup and the first release of the jerseys, there was a lot of excitement… She's smiling big in the photo, so she's definitely excited.”

The Matildas made headlines around the world when they enjoyed phenomenal success at the Women's World Cup last year.

The jerseys went on sale on Tuesday and are available for both men and women.

It came after Pink – who was actually born Alecia Beth Moore – was left speechless by a fan's very X-rated suggestion during her Summer Carnival show in Melbourne over the weekend.

She was speaking to fans in the audience at Marvel Stadium when she noticed a woman holding up a sign to get their attention.

The star admitted she was shocked when she read the message addressed to her and her husband Carey Hart.

Pink told the crowd, “The sign says, ‘You, me and Carey in threes?’ I don’t know what to say! I'm not often speechless.'

She seemed to see the funny side of the proposal when she re-shared a video of the exchange on Instagram after the show.

The superstar has been busy traveling around Australia for her in-demand shows and will next take to the stage in Adelaide on Tuesday night.

She was joined Down Under by her off-road truck racer husband Carey, 48, and their children Willow and Jameson, seven.

Pink has long considered Australia a second home and revealed she is “exploring” possible citizenship in February 2023.
