The meals Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg could eat to prepare for their cage fight

This week, two of the world’s richest tech moguls, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, appeared to agree to a cage fight.

Musk tweeted Wednesday night and boasted that he was “up for a cage fight if so.” Meta boss Zuckerberg replied on Instagram, “Send me the location.”

Bookmakers already see Zuckerberg – who recently won a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition and trains in mixed martial arts – as the clear favorite to continue the fight.

But how they fuel up ahead of the fight could be crucial to who wins.

Zuckerberg, 39, is known to be strict about his diet and exercise habits, only eating meat from animals he killed himself and participating in strenuous exercise challenges.

Meanwhile, Musk, 51, has said he doesn’t like working out and eats a donut and several cans of soda every day.

In 2011, Zuckerberg decided to only eat meat if it came from an animal he had killed.

“I think a lot of people forget that in order to eat meat, a living thing has to die. So my goal is to not let myself forget that and to be thankful for what I have,” Zuckerberg told Fortune at the time.

“This year I’ve practically become a vegetarian as I only eat meat from animals I’ve killed myself.” So far it’s been a good experience.

“I’m eating a lot healthier foods and I’ve learned a lot about sustainable farming and animal husbandry.”

Zuckerberg owned several animals, including at least six goats. In 2021, he doubled the size of his Hawaii property with the goal of using it for agriculture.

It’s safe to assume that Zuckerberg’s diet could consist of organic chicken, fish, shellfish, beef, and even more exotic foods.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that Zuckerberg invited him to dinner one night and fed him cold meat from a goat he had previously killed.

“I guess he kills it. He kills it with a laser gun and then with the knife. “Then send it to the butcher,” Dorsey said.

‘[Zuckerberg] had six goats at the time. I say, “We eat the goat you killed?” He said, “Yes,” I said, “Have you ever eaten goat?” He says, “Yes, I love it.”

It’s unclear if Zuckerberg still slaughters his own animals, but he has also admitted that he often forgets to eat.

“Have you ever been so excited about what you’re working on that you forget to eat meals?” he wrote on Facebook. “It happens all the time.” I think I’ve lost 10 pounds over the last few months as a result.”

Musk has also said that he often prioritizes work over food. “If there was a way I couldn’t eat to get more work, I wouldn’t eat,” Musk said in Ashlee Vance’s bio, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for an Awesome Future.

However, he is less strict than Zuckerberg. In the past he has said that he would either skip breakfast or eat something sweet like a Mars bar or a donut. “I’m trying to limit sweets, and I should have an omelette and coffee,” he said, according to a 2017 Entrepreneur article.

A Mars bar contains 234 calories and 11.5 grams of fat. It also contains 26 grams of sugar, nearly three-quarters of the recommended daily sugar intake for men, which is 36 grams, according to the American Heart Association.

He didn’t seem to be making much progress in that regard.

“I eat a donut every morning.” “Alive,” he said tweeted March.

The average glazed donut contains about 253 calories and 14 grams of fat.

It also contains about 14 grams of sugar, or six and a half teaspoons.

Last year, Musk tweeted a photo of his bedside table showing four empty cans of decaffeinated Diet Coke. However, the drink does not contain any calories or added sugar.

In the 2020 episode of his podcast, he told Joe Rogan, “I’d rather eat nice food and live a shorter life.”

But despite his relaxed diet, Musk admitted last year that in addition to fasting, he also took the weight-loss drug Wegovy, his secret to achieving a “fit, toned, and healthy” body.

Wegovy is the sister drug to Ozempic, a brand name for the drug
semaglutide. Wegovy and Ozempic suppress appetite and induce weight loss.

As early as 2023, doctors issued more than 832,700 prescriptions for Wegovy.

Mr Musk has not consistently said whether the drug he was taking was branded Wegovy or Ozempic, but both drugs can lead to severe weight loss and reductions in body fat.

He said in October he’d lost almost 30 pounds with the help of the medication, combined with fasting and “not eating tasty food.”

At 170 centimeters tall and weighing around 70 kilograms, Zuckerberg is the smaller and more nimble of the two businessmen.

But when it comes to fitness, Zuckerberg has been praised for his intense exercise programs.

Earlier this month, he completed the grueling “Murph Challenge” workout, which included 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and a one-mile run. Not only did he finish, he also placed in the top 200 among tens of thousands of participants.

The challenge is named after Michael P. Murphy, a US Navy SEAL who was killed while touring Afghanistan in 2005 and regularly put up with the brutal training.

Zuckerberg shared a photo on Facebook of himself wearing a camo vest and another of his two daughters – August, 7, and Max, 5 – taking on a mini version of the challenge.

“I try to do the Murph Challenge with the girls every Memorial Day as a tradition to honor those who defended us,” he wrote.

He also won both gold and silver medals in his first Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament in May.

However, Musk has said that he has trained in Kyokushin karate, taekwondo, judo and jiu-jitsu his entire life. He also told CNBC that he spends a little time on the treadmill and lifting weights.

However, he is not a fan of exercise. “To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t exercise at all if I could. “I prefer not to exercise,” he said in an interview with Rogan.

“I have this awesome move I call The Walrus where I just lay down on top of my opponent and don’t do anything,” Musk said tweeted On Wednesday.
