Almost a year ago, everyone was wearing Miu Miu miniskirts. The 20 centimeter length was a hit on the catwalks and off. Now, with an even less “modest” version of a mini dress, Loewe has shown it wants to go further. Even more miniatures.
The brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show, helmed by Jonathan Anderson, took hems to extremes. Sometimes even the underwear is left on display. After all, there is no reason to hide postpandemic.
The mini dresses presented by Anderson played with a differentiated silhouette.
While the fabric was saved in the lower part and the models left the legs free, the upper part of the pieces reproduced polo shirts short and long sleeves and brought geometric and floral prints.

Just as Miu Miu succeeded in its most explicit version, Loewe’s mini mini dress seems to be able to take that place in street style as well.
In other versions, the hips were given maximized shapes, as seen in the brand’s first black look.
As Hypebeast points out, since his appointment in 2013, the stylist has breathed new life into Loewe “through quirky silhouettes imbued with surrealistic codes that leave the viewer in awe.”

Also noteworthy is the use of the anthurium flower as one of the central inspirations for the looks in Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection show. The flower came alive in dresses and tops as it was centered on the bodies of models walking the Garde Republicaine catwalk in Paris, France.
The costume came to the fore in the pixelated hoodies, tshirts, and pants that looked like they had sprung from an 8bit digital universe.
