The Mooseheads goalkeeper scores again

Laval Rocket goalkeeper Strauss Mann’s goal drew a lot of attention this week, and now a second goalkeeper looked like an underdog on Friday. Halifax Moosheads goalkeeper Mathis Rousseau fumbled in a game against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

The masked man from Quebec fared even better than the man who was the last player to touch a puck that an opponent had sent into his own net, as he shot into an empty net.

The Huskies had dropped their goalie in favor of a sixth skater and Rousseau didn’t miss his chance. He caught the disk in his mitt and placed it on his stick before throwing it over everyone.

The Boisbriand native celebrated this goal with his teammates, which gave the Mooseheads a 6-4 victory. He also blocked 38 of the opponent’s 42 shots in this game.

Jordan Dumais had just returned from Columbus, where the Blue Jackets allowed him to recover from his injury, and was voted the game’s first star. The top scorer of the 2022-2023 season scored a hat trick and added two assists.
