The travel platform Tripadvisor has once again published the “Best of the Best” travel destinations. Millions of traveler reviews have been analyzed. “Best of the Best” only includes all travel destinations whose hotels, restaurants and activities have received excellent reviews. But be careful: if you want to avoid tourist crowds on vacation, this is probably the wrong place for you. Top 10 highest-rated travel destinations at a glance:
10th place: Hoi An
The city on the central Vietnamese coast was one of the most important commercial ports in Southeast Asia in the 15th to 19th centuries. Hoi An is becoming more and more famous and popular, especially among backpackers. Every month, at full moon, the Lantern Festival is celebrated, where the street lights are turned off and the lanterns are lit.

9th place: Crete
The Greek island is called the “jewel of the Mediterranean”. The rich archaeological and mythological history is worth a visit, as are the Venetian port of Chania and the ruins of Fortezza in Rethymno.

8th place: Marrakesh
According to Tripadvisor reviews, Marrakech is a “magical city” with markets, gardens, palaces and mosques. The historic Medina is a must, as is the Jardin Majorelle.

7th place: Cancun
The Mexican city has more to offer than its party image suggests, according to Tripadvisor reviews. The Mayan ruins or the tequila museum are among the highlights, along with the many family resorts.

6th place: Paris
“Awaken your spirits at Notre Dame, hunt for bargains at Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or browse for treats at Marché Bilogique Raspail before ending the day with a daring show at Moulin Rouge,” writes Tripadvisor.

5th place: Rome
There is a lot to explore in the eternal city. Tripadvisor recommends the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Pantheon. But you shouldn't forget the culinary delights – keywords pasta and gelato.

4th place: Hanoi
The Vietnamese capital has preserved colonial monuments and architecture while making room for modern developments. Lakes, parks and shaded avenues, but of course also the more than 600 temples and pagodas, are worth a trip. Everything can be easily explored by taxi.

3rd place: London
London combines many worlds in one city, according to Tripadvisor. Punk vibes can be found in Camden, swagger in Shoreditch and elegance on Portobello Road. The vibrant energy of the British capital means no two days are the same. Of course, anyone interested in royalty and history will get their money's worth here.

2nd place: Bali
Bali is described as a “living postcard” and highlights advantages such as white sand beaches and tropical climate. Ubud has established itself as an “art capital”; Here you can sit in the audience at dance performances, participate in batik workshops and harmonize body and mind with yoga courses.

1st place: Dubai
In Dubai, modern culture mixes with history, adventure and entertainment, says Tripadvisor. The Burj Khalifa observation deck is worth a visit, as are the gold, textile and spice souks along Dubai Creek. You can also experience many desert adventures.
