The American company JD Power has just presented its 3-year reliability study (Vehicle Dependability Study or VDS), which identifies the most reliable vehicles according to 17 market categories.
To do this, investigators surveyed more than 30,000 owners of the model year 2020 between August and November 2022. Each car is given a rating in “problems per 100 vehicles” or PP100.
Toyota is the big winner of this study, placing 6 vehicles at the top (including Lexus). BMW and Kia also do well with 4 (including MINI) and 3 first places respectively, while GM stands out with its trucks. With the Lexus RX and Toyota C-HR ex aequo (pictured), the Japanese group also takes the title of the most reliable vehicles.
Finally, note that if fewer than 3 vehicles are listed in a category, this means that no other model has achieved a PP100 above the industry average.
