The film “The Blue Lagoon” tells the story of two children who end up on a deserted island after a shipwreck. After the adult accompanying them dies, they must learn to survive alone in this inhospitable place.
The actress Brooke Shields shared cast with Christopher Atkins in the 1980 classic. During a conversation on the What Now? with Brooke Shields,” the star explained why the movie probably wouldn’t be legal these days.
As everyone knows, Brooke was very young when she shot the scenes. Given this, several controversies have been sparked due to the parts in which she appears virtually nude.
Brooke was about 14 years old at the time of her romance with Atkins (age 18).
“We caught fish and all kinds of crazy stuff. Kids running around naked on the beach, I couldn’t do that now.”
“They really wanted us to fall in love. I didn’t respond well to being forced to feel. I hadn’t even kissed anyone at that age,” Shields added backstage.
Atkins also joined the chat and revealed more details.
“There were scenes where I was naked with you, remember, slipped and stuff like that. And that was a little weird, but it was kind of funny to me because at that point I was going to do it. But his reaction was, ‘Ugh, oh god,'” the actor said.
The actress’ nipples were covered and a double was used in the scenes where she was with Christopher.
