The mystery of a plane wreck “several decades old” finally solved –

The origin of the remains of a damaged plane found near Kamloops, British Columbia, earlier this month was a mystery to authorities for several weeks until a pilot came forward on Thursday.

A hunter came face to face with the wreckage of a Cessna plane in the woods on November 3 and immediately alerted authorities.

Upon arrival, employees concluded that the accident that caused the significant damage to the plane’s frame must have occurred several years or even decades ago, The Guardian reports.

According to a report released by Transport Canada, the aircraft was in this condition due to contact with the ground.

However, there were no missing aircraft or passengers matching this location and description.

The mystery appeared to be solved until a pilot who works for the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association came forward and said he had dropped the wreckage there last year for training purposes, making the reality of a plane crash even more realistic, locals report Media Castanet.

“We want smoke and injured people to be as realistic as possible for our recruits,” said BC Air Rescue director general Fred Carey. We’re treating it like a real plane crash.

The latter added that the surrounding airports had been warned about the location of the plane and that it had been placed back in the forest so as not to alarm anyone.
