While the World of Warcraft saga should flow into Microsoft’s purse after its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, life in Azeroth goes on. And even in the Shadowlands, name and place where the story of the latest expansion took place. This is in its final patch, with players defeating the Jailer, the expansion’s final boss, who resisted no less than 19 days after the raid opened on Mythic difficulty. The Echo Guild managed to defeat him after no less than 277 attempts. Today it is a hint of the future expansion, revealed by none other than the World of Warcraft official website source code. Did you accidentally see the extension name?
While Blizzard is scheduled to unveil its new expansion on April 19, the developers have updated the World of Warcraft official website. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by many observers who rushed to analyze every line of code and found a few points of interest. If there have been rumors of an expansion focused on the Dragon Aspects, that actually seems to be heading in the right direction. In fact, the mention of Wow Dragonflight is present in many places.
Three levels of expansion would be available: Base, Heroic and Epic. As a reminder, the Draconic Aspects are beings of very great power who are responsible for watching over mortal species. Players have already dealt with several of their members including Alexstrasza, Malygos or even Nozdormu. At the time of this writing, the relevant source code has been removed by Blizzard. We will therefore have to wait until April 19th to learn more about the future history of World of Warcraft. I’m hoping for better writing continuity now that Sylvana’s arc seems to be over. How about new races and classes to celebrate? If so, would you return to Azeroth?
