The National Police are registering the local police headquarters of L’Hospitalet this Thursday in search of documents and data on the selection process for the position of superintendent. Another opponent told police the contest was tailored to the local police chief, who was in the community at the time. UDEF agents are court-ordered to investigate a possible crime of subterfuge.
The police are searching various offices of the L’Hospitalet city guard, journalist Anna Punsí reports. The corporal who reported the case pointed to the alleged irregularities in the month of March. Only he and the mayor, Ramon Dosaigues, who acted as head of the body and was on assignment in the municipality, appeared on the square.
At the same time, a police union also criticized the selection process, which was ultimately paralyzed by a court through contentious proceedings. Dosaigues, who held a two-year service commission position, was forced to return to his destination in the parish of El Prat when his time at l’Hospitalet provisionally expired and the superintendent’s competition to which he had been submitted was annulled. The administrative process is scheduled for July 24th.
