The Nero Bianco Group, already the owner of the Club Chaussures and Nero Bianco stores, acquired the Panda Shoes company on Sunday.
In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, the owner of the company, Jean-François Transon, pointed out that the opportunity for this acquisition was perfect, especially with the resignation of the owner of Chaussures Panda, Linda Goulet.
“The synergies, the potential, the possible growth: everything was there to have a recipe for success,” says the President of the Nero Bianco Group, Jean-François Transon.
New businesses could soon emerge in the region.
“We just want to grow and that will happen in regions where demand is very high but supply is very low,” he said. We see a very big opportunity for us at this level.”

Mr. Transon assures that his various banners will not compete with each other.
“We already live together, we were just separated, now we are together in one group so we can mix products even more intelligently for customers,” he says.
Some people risk losing their jobs as a result of this acquisition, but according to the company’s president, jobs will be created.
“A small loss in the short term [d’emplois] at the headquarters in Montreal, he explains. But in Quebec there will be creation, and at the openings too [de nouvelles boutiques]there will be as many at headquarters as there are at the job creation store.”
The total cost of the acquisition was not disclosed.
