But The Last of Us has defied all odds, earning a 99 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 9.6 out of 10 rating on IMDB.

Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said at the CES 2023 technology fair that Sony has 10 games-inspired movies and TV projects in development.
During the Los Angeles premiere, Star Pascal said the game’s “impact on its audience stems from the storytelling,” noting that it’s a “kind of perfect marriage” for HBO and The Last of Us.
Ramsey said she hopes “people can realize that video games can have a great story, a story so great that it can then be adapted into a television show.”
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Mazin explained that the show is based on reality.

He added that he doesn’t think the fungus could evolve to infect humans, but that hallucinatory drugs like LSD come from mushrooms.
Mazin said: “Now his warning – what if they evolve and invade us? – Scientifically speaking, would they do to us what they do to ants? I do not think so. I doubt it. On the other hand, he’s right – LSD and psilocybin come from mushrooms.”

Mazin is also known for creating the Emmy-winning series Chernobyl, which he says reminds him of The Last of Us.
He said: “What scared me was that [the Chernobyl nuclear plant] exploded that night, but it could have exploded a week earlier, or it could have exploded a month earlier.’
The showrunner added that these issues could arise, but we “just don’t know about them.”
He explained: “Which means there’s something right now just waiting to blow up – you just don’t know. It was so annoying telling people, “We knew about it, it was there, now we’re going to show you the night it finally happens.” Not suddenly, but finally.”
