The NFL’s highest-paid man has had another operation

Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who became Monday’s highest-earning player in NFL history, underwent surgery in February.

According to ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles star player went under the knife on Tuesday to remove “a device” from his right ankle. Hurts had been wearing it since October 2018 after injuring himself while playing with the University of Alabama.

The 24-year-old should be ready for the Eagles’ training program, which begins next week. Hurts missed just three games in his first three pro seasons.

The quarterback helped his team win 14-3 in 2022 and get to the Super Bowl game. He notably threw 3,701 yards through the air and had 22 touchdowns against just six interceptions. Needing healthy ankles, he also scored 13 rushing majors.

On Monday, Hurts signed a five-year Monster deal worth a total of $255 million.
