GAZA, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) — The number of Palestinians killed in the current Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 29,000, the Gaza-based Health Ministry reported on Monday.
According to a press release from the ministry, the Israeli army killed 107 Palestinians and injured 145 others in the last 24 hours.
This latest update brings the total number of casualties to 29,092 dead and 69,028 injured since the Israel-Hamas conflict erupted on October 7 last year, 2023, the statement said.
He recalled that some victims still lie under the rubble due to heavy bombing and a lack of civil defense personnel and ambulances.
In retaliation for the Hamas attack on Israel's southern border on October 7, 2023, which killed around 1,400 people and took more than 200 hostage, Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
