The Orioles Descriptor emerges from the shadows

Baltimore Orioles coach Kevin Brown, who has been suspended indefinitely by the organization for comments he made on the air July 23, spoke on the matter for the first time on Friday.

The principal involved was fined for reporting facts about the Maryland team’s failures at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Brown wrote on his Twitter account that there is “mutual respect” between him and Orioles President John Angelos. Additionally, he pointed out that the media had “misrepresented” his relationship with the team.

“I’m a storyteller and I never want to be part of that story. The most compelling story in baseball right now is that of the championship-leading Baltimore Orioles. They are the best and most exciting young team in the American League,” wrote the staffer for the MASN network, which is owned by the Orioles.

“Unfortunately, the media has recently misrepresented my relationship with the Orioles and my adopted homeland. The fact of the matter is I have a wonderful relationship with the organization and our owners and administrative staff have given me their full support since I joined in 2019,” he said.

Brown also insisted on appealing for calm.

“I ask everyone to ignore the disturbing noise of the last few days. I have worked closely with Orioles Vice President Greg Bader for the past four years, and John Angelos and I have an intense dialogue based on mutual respect. We all feel at home in the “Birdland”!”

During Tuesday’s game against the Houston Astros at Oriole Park, fans loudly criticized his suspension. They chanted a chant that read “Free Kevin Brown”. The aim was to give the descriptor the opportunity to express itself freely.
