The Indiana Pacers and Quebec’s Bennedict Mathurin narrowly defeated the Chicago Bulls 125-122 at the United Center on Sunday.
It took a shot from Tyrese Haliburton downtown by 2.7 seconds to give the Pacers the win. The latter also showed an excellent game, collecting 29 points, three rebounds and 11 assists.
Mathurin was the team’s second-best scorer with 17 points. The Montreal-raised player also had four rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of play.
For the Bulls, Zach LaVine started with a 42-point harvest. However, he missed a free throw that would have given Illinois the lead just before Haliburton’s big win.
Mathurin and the Pacers will be back in action Monday night hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at Bakers Life Fieldhouse.
