The Panthers humiliate the Lightning

Thanks to four-point contributions from Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett, the Florida Panthers taunted the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Battle of Florida on Saturday at Amalie Arena.

In fact, Paul Maurice's side humiliated Jon Cooper's by winning 9-2.

Tkachuk, Bennett and Carter Verhaeghe each sent the red light twice for the visitors. Kevin Stenlund, Gustav Forsling and Brandon Montour also attended the party alongside Sunrise team members.

The game started well for the Lightning, who scored first 24 seconds into the first period through Brandon Hagel. Brayden Point was the author of Tampa Bay's second success.

Apparently Andrei Vasilevskiy didn't have an easy afternoon at work as he was sent off after 40 minutes of play after allowing six goals on 22 shots. He was replaced by Jonas Johansson, who dropped his flag three times.

The Lightning face the Ottawa Senators on Monday. The latter then meets the Panthers the next day.

The Predators are recovering

After a devastating 9-2 loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday, the Nashville Predators bounced back well to win 5-2 against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

Thanks to this victory, the team from Tennessee is two points behind its daily rival, which occupies the eighth and last place and thus gives access to the playoffs of the Western Association.

Colton Sissons, Luke Evangelista, Filip Forsberg, Luke Schenn and Ryan O'Reilly were the scorers for Nashville. Jordan Kyrou and Nathan Walker provided answers for the Blues.

Juuse Saros stopped 35 pucks in the win. His opponent, Jordan Binnington, stopped 28 shots.

Nashville faces the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, while the Blues host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.
