Paramedics were called to the scene of an accident on an Alberta highway and intervened on a young girl who sustained serious injuries. She first tried to free her for about thirty minutes and stayed by her side until the victim was taken to the nearest hospital by helicopter.

“My worst paramedic nightmare has come true”
In a second step, and while the rescuer returned home after her duty, it was the police who came to her home to tell her the terrible news. It was her 17-year-old daughter Montana who was involved in the accident, adding that the hospital was unable to revive her. The Guardian says the paramedic’s young daughter was left in the car with a friend to walk their dog.
In the days that followed, Jayme Erickson’s Facebook post sharing her grief was shared thousands of times across the country, making the story world famous. “The badly injured patient I just treated was my own flesh and blood. my only child My mini me. My daughter Montana. Her injuries were so terrible that I didn’t even recognize them. The pain I feel is unlike anything known, it is indescribable. My worst paramedic nightmare has come true,” she said.
