The Parliament of Lebanon will analyze economic and administrative issues

Amid deteriorating living conditions, President Berri convened a meeting of the mixed commissions at noon this Wednesday, bringing together members from the areas of finance and budget, administration and justice, national defense, home affairs and local government, national economy, trade, industry and planning.

According to the parliamentary agenda, the first item to be discussed is a law aimed at opening a budget allocation to cover the costs of holding local and electoral elections scheduled for next May.

MEPs will also consider projects to amend articles in the Criminal Code, the Law on Public Procurement and the Money and Credit Regulations, the latter subject to implementation by the Central Bank.

At the end of February, the unicameral parliament examined the social security and environmental provisions and the content of the decree defining the fuel sales agreement between the Iraqi and Lebanese governments.

The Levantine country is going through a phase of double constitutional vacuums, without a President of the Republic since October 31 last year and under a transitional cabinet with limited powers.
