This award is presented annually to a player who has made great philanthropic achievements. In 2020, “FAA” launched the #FAAPointsForChange project in collaboration with BNP Paribas and the Care Association. For every point the 23-year-old athlete earns on the ATP circuit, $20 is donated to the EduChange program. This will support the education of Togo's most vulnerable children and aim to end the violence they endure. Since the initiative began, approximately $400,000 has been allocated for this purpose.
Additionally, in 2023, Auger-Aliassime became the face of a major fundraising event for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
“When I was told that I would receive the 2023 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Prize, I was pleasantly surprised,” Auger-Aliassime wrote in a text posted on the ATP website. That was excellent news. But we never help others win prizes. I know Arthur didn't do it. We are currently in a better time in the world, but we still see many problems. I think the most important thing to remember is that humanism is about caring for other people. It’s about working with people.”
“Many are suffering and need help,” he also said. I am happy to be recognized not only for my performance as a tennis player, but also for my personality. If I can help one person, maybe that person will grow up healthy and one day be able to help someone else. It’s a kind of beautiful cycle that we want to see around us.”
