The New England Patriots do some business on the wide receiver front before training camp begins next month. No, they haven’t reached an agreement with free agent DeAndre Hopkins, but they did agree with DeVante Parker on a new three-year deal worth up to $33 million. according to NFL Media. The deal reportedly includes $14 million in guarantees and per-game squad bonuses.
Parker wanted to renew his contract to help bring a Super Bowl back to New England. Ian Rapoport reports. The 30-year-old wideout entered the final year of his contract, which Spotrac said would net him a base salary of $5.7 million.
The Patriots entered Wednesday with a $14.95 million pitch (10th in the league in remaining pitch). New England is one of two teams that hosted Hopkins after his release from the Arizona Cardinals Report reported Parker’s new contract doesn’t dampen New England’s optimism about signing the five-time All-Pro. Hopkins is reportedly expected to sign with a new team in late July when training camps begin.
In his first season with the Patriots, Parker caught 31 passes for 539 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games. Despite missing four games, Parker was New England’s second-best receiver. His 17.4 yards per reception led all Patriots wideouts in 2022.

Parker was traded from the rival Miami Dolphins last season along with a fifth-round pick to the Patriots for a third-round pick. In seven seasons with Miami, Parker averaged 50.8 yards per game and caught 24 touchdowns. His best season came in 2019, catching 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. The veteran receiver serves as a consistent full-back for young Mac Jones, who is set to take another step in his development next season with new offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien.
