The Seattle Seahawks need a QB after Russell Wilson trade and Deshaun Watson could fit. He’s a double threat quarterback who can play out of the pocket.
Seattle recently made a big deal by sending Wilson to the Denver Broncos. It was a shocking move that turned things around for both AFC and NFC West. Wilson spent the first 10 years of his career with the Seahawks and it won’t be easy to replace him.
The Houston Texans have been trying to offload Watson for some time now, though his off-field troubles have thwarted that. Watson is a talented young defender but has not played in the 2021 season due to lawsuits filed against him.
Criminal cases were dropped from him, but he still has 22 civil cases to consider. Trading for Watson is still risky, but he is a phenomenal player. If he can solve problems off the field, he will be interesting to acquire.
The last time he played in 2020, Watson led the league in passing yards with 4,823. He also threw for 33 touchdowns with only seven interceptions. In addition, he contributed to a rushing 444 yards and three touchdowns.
In the Wilson trade, the Seahawks acquired a ton of assets, including a draft pick. Seattle could use these additional assets to trade with Watson.

Seahawks Trade: 9th pick 2022, 41st pick 2022, 4th round pick 2023

Seattle has two second-round picks this year, and trading one of them in this deal is a no-brainer, along with a 2023 fourth-round pick. Submitting the 9th overall pick will be a tough pick, but they will get a top 10 quarterback in the NFL.
The NFL is a league of quarterbacks, and the lack of an elite player under the center makes it difficult to compete for the Super Bowl.
Watson’s electric playing style would have paired well with D.C. Metcalfe and Tyler Lockett’s wide receivers. His physique allows him to break tackle and run out of pocket.
This can lead to unplanned plays in the bottom of the field, which are difficult to hide for the defense. With Metcalfe and Lockett at wide receiver, holding back fullbacks and fullbacks will be even more difficult. Metcalfe’s physical play and large build make him an elite deep threat.
Lockett is a reliable all-around receiver who consistently performs at a high level. Watson would benefit greatly from having these two elite receivers to throw with.
Watson’s problems off the field are a huge concern, but people forget how talented he is. If he can stay on the field, Seattle will be a great place for him.
The Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints are leading the charge for Watson, but Seattle needs to come forward and offer the aforementioned deal to the Texans.
