The Peruvian Foreign Minister meets with colleagues during the Celac Summit

Both foreign ministers exchanged their opinions in a working meeting

on multilateral issues such as the reform of the United Nations Security Council and the proposal for its reform presented by González Olaechea.

The conversation also discussed Amazon cooperation and the strengthening of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) as well as the initiatives proposed within the framework of the Brasilia Consensus.

González Olaechea and Vieira also spoke about the South American mechanism and action plan to combat transnational organized crime.

The Peruvian Foreign Minister previously met with his Costa Rican counterpart Arnoldo André and both emphasized the excellent level of relations between the two countries, according to an official report.

They agreed to further strengthen dialogue, coordination and cooperation at bilateral and regional levels, the official report added.

On the other hand, González-Olaechea met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Amery A. Browne, and they agreed to deepen bilateral relations.

At the meeting, they signed a memorandum of understanding that sets out the bilateral mechanism for political consultations between both foreign ministries.
