In an interview with Jean-Charles Lajoie on Wednesday, Alain Nasreddine made no secret of the fact that his team strives for the highest honours.

“We’ve been happy with our record and the way we’ve played since the beginning of the season. For us, our ultimate goal is the Stanley Cup. Credit has to be given to the scouts who have been able to bring on players like Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, Miro Heiskanen and Jake Oettinger. It enables long-term success. In the short term, we’re aiming for the playoffs and the Stanley Cup.

The fact that the stars are so successful is mainly due to the brilliant performances of Jason Robertson. The latter has scored 23 goals and 41 points in 26 games since the start of the season.

“It’s fun to say, but even for a coach who does it every day, it’s hard to explain. He’s not the fastest, he’s not the strongest, he’s not the best shot, but he has a flair for finding opportunities. If he has a chance, it doesn’t take much for him to be at the back of the net. It’s not just luck or talent, it takes a lot of time to work. He is the last to leave the ice rink at every training session.

Nasreddine does not hide it. When he sees what’s happening to his old team, the New Jersey Devils, he feels a certain tingling in his heart.

“I’m happy for some people who are in the organization. is it heartbreak Yes. Did I eat the brown bread? Yes, but at some point you have to move on. If I found myself rebuilding with a different team it might be worse, but I’m focused on the situation I’m in.

The Stars’ assistant coach admits he’s spinning the perfect fortune at his new organization, which relocated to Dallas after leaving New Jersey.

“We are successful here in Dallas. I am very happy. I have a good working relationship with the coaches I work with. Jim Nill is an amazing general manager. I really can’t complain from my side. It gives me absolutely nothing to wish other teams harm.
